У статті розкриваються сучасні тенденції застосування сили в міжнародних відносинах. За результатами аналізу виокремлено тенденції застосування «жорсткої», «м’якої», «розумної», та «дифузної» сили на міжнародній арені. Розкривається концептуальний зміст та особливості застосування сили у кожній із визначених тенденції.
